Release: The 1991 Unveiled

Posted by Andrew Ilgunas on

Here it is then; the moment you have all been waiting for! The FLB 1991 in all its brand - new shiny glory!

These last couple of weeks have been a long and torturous road waiting for the final piece of the puzzle to arrive so that I could show this off but I certainly think, and I hope you will agree, that it has been well and truly worth the wait!

The saga of the custom made knobs has been epic and deeply emotional. Having finally taken receipt of them on Wednesday only to find they had been made undersized and didn't fit the pot shafts resulted in many tears... Fortunately, Ritch at Stompkins had the tools and skills to widen them and so, a couple of eye - wateringly expensive next day deliveries later and I'm able to present this to you!

I'm not going to waffle on any longer; below are the essential details on the pedal just to remind you of them and the all important release date and time. The response to this thing has been ridiculous without having even been seen or heard yet so make sure you're ready to buy at the correct time so that your patience can be rewarded. I'm expecting these to move pretty quickly!

The 1991 is a dirt pedal that will provide everything from sparkly clean boost to face - melting distortion and has been specifically designed to capture the spirit and prevalent sound of the awesome music released in 1991. The overarching aim was to capture the sound of the Ten album by Pearl Jam and the blue print for the sound is a mid forward drive pedal being pushed into a cranked, high gain amplifier.

The pedal features two gain controls (which work independently as well as together); a master volume and a three band EQ. The pedal is designed to be reflective of the prevalent sounds of 1991 and as such is mid forward; sparkly in the top end and easy on the low end.

The 1991 has a max draw of 11 ma and runs on 9V DC negative PSU only!

The 1991 will be available to purchase exclusively from www.funnylittleboxes.co.uk from 18:00 on Sunday 19.09.2021
